A rare and original edition of sheet music dated 1852 and used to promote the campaign of FRANKLIN PIERCE for President of the United States. Entitled GEN. PIERCE'S GRAND MARCH, the music emphasizes Pierce's heroic role in the recent Mexican War. Published by Alonzo Bond with lithograph portrait of Pierce in uniform. Four pages of music plus illustrated cover sheet, removed from a bound volume of sheet music assembled as a common practice of the period. Size 10 1/4 x 13 1/4, very good condition with normal aging.
