Civil War Document 1864 City Point Virginia Wounded VA Picture(s) and Description:

An original Civil War document at the top it is dated Depot Field Hospital Army of Potomac City Point, Va, July 5, 1864. The document says it is a special order No 172. It says in one area, "Surgeon Dalton Chief Medical Officer at City Point Va, is authorized to detain in the Hospitals at that place such Medical Officers and enlisted men, sent down from time to time with the sick and wounded of the several Corps, as may seem in his judgment to be absolutely necessary for the proper care of such sick and wounded." It then says it is by command of Major Genl. Meade and signed by S. Williams, it is also signed by Surgeon Ed Dalton. The document is in very good condition, there is some wear on the top edge of the document that does not affect the reading of the document. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
