EXTRACTS FROM THE AMERICAN CONTINENTAL CONGRESS – 1774 Picture(s) and Description:

EXTRACTS FROM THE VOTES AND PROCEEDINGS OF THE AMERICAN CONTINENTAL CONGRESS, HELD AT PHILADELPHIA, ON THE 5TH OF SEPTEMBER, 1774. CONTAINING THE BILL OF RIGHTS, A LIST OF GRIEVANCES, OCCASIONAL RESOLVES, THE ASSOCIATION, AN ADDRESS TO THE PEOPLE OF GREAT-BRITAIN, AND A MEMORIAL TO THE INHABITANTS OF THE BRITISH AMERICAN COLONIES. PUBLISHED BY ORDER OF THE CONGRESS. PHILADELPHIA, Printed: Newport, Rhode Island, reprinted and sold by S.Southwick, in Queen-Street.,1774. 56p. (orinially 59 pages, missing the last two leaves). Stitched pamphlet, 5 1/4" x 8 1/2". The title page has some light water stains and the very bottom of the title page is torn and missing. There is a light water-stain on pages 34 through 56 and the very top corner (in the margin) of page 56 is missing. Also the last three pages are missing otherwise good condition! This is one of the most significant documents of the American Revolution, condensing the most important proceedings of the First Continental Congress between Sept. 5 and Oct. 26, 1774. The actions of the Continental Congress were of the greatest interest in the colonies, and these EXTRACTS... were first published in Philadelphia while Congress was still sitting and then reprinted in several cities throughout the colonies all in 1774. As with all of my auctions I am starting this rare Newport printing at $9.99 with NO RESERVE!
