LO ILLUSTRO POETA CHECO DASCOLI CON COMMENTO NONAMENTE TROUATO, & NOBILMENTE HISTORIATO: REUISTO: & EMENDATO: & DA MOLTA INCORRECTIONE EXTIRPATO & DA ANTIQUO SUO UESTIGIO EXEMPLATO, & ETERA. By Cecco d'Ascoli. Published in 1519, Impresso in Venetia per Ioanne Tacuino de Trino. Nel anno. M.D. XIX. Adi.XX.Mazo. 133 printed leaves (266p.) plus colphon page at the end. Full leather binding 4" x 5 3/4" (leather binding is antique but may not be original). A previous owners name is written in ink in the upper right corner of the front endpaper. A group of four leaves (LXVII-LXX) are loose but not completely detached otherwise the text is in a fine state of preservation. The title page was printed slightly off center cutting off the very ends of some words in the title, however, the printing in the rest of the book is fine. The edges and corners of the covers are worn and there is chipping at the bottom of the spine but the text in this extremely rare 491 year old book is complete and in FINE CONDITION! As with all of my rare items I am starting this auction at $9.99 with NO RESERVE! On Feb-22-10 at 08:38:56 PST, seller added the following information: The text is not in FINE condition as stated above but is in NEAR FINE condition! There is some very light, extremely minor scattered foxing , leaf XXXVII has a very tiny hole in the center of the page and three is a small light stain on the last page (back side of leaf CXXXIII) otherwise the text is in FINE CONDITION!
