Welcome to the "château"..... ....brimming with delicious vintage French shabby chic treasures. SUPERB BATCH FRENCH LAWYER's DOCUMENTS DATED 1823 /1889 Please scroll down for more pictures & postage options ~~~***~~~ I have been able to source a large batch of wonderful antique letters, receipts, telegrams, deeds and manuscripts all of which had been carefully tied up, bound and stored safely away over a period of almost 200 years in the offices of a notaire (solicitor). The earliest manuscript which has come to light so far is what looks like a contract dated 1745 and that, with many other 19th and early 20th century documents, will be listed in my auctions. All the documents reveal wonderful scrolled writing of the period - and would be fabulous for framing , for vintage scrapbooking or any decoupage project. This auction is for 3 manuscripts. One is dated 1889 and appears to be an Order for the payment of monies following a tribunal (court) decision, as does the second document, dated 1823. The third document, from the writing and the parchment paper it is written on is, I think, dated earlier still- possibly even 18th century, but I cannot distinguish a date on it. It is a "proces verbal" - which I think must be a contemporaneous copy of either evidence given or a judgement/decision handed down at a tribunal.
