Very Rare Complete Torah Bible Scroll Hand Written on You are bidding on a very rare Complete Sefer Torah Bible Scroll (the 5 books of Moses). The 5 Books, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers Deuteronomy are all hand written in the ancient original Hebrew language. The present scroll is written with black ink on (gevil) Deer parchment parchment made from the whole hide rather than split, processed for writing on the hair side only, and prepared with a mixture of salt, flour and wasp residue/gall nut water resulting in the typical brown color of a Moroccan Torah Scroll. The scroll came from Morocco and is any were from 450 600 yrs old.( In addition to the nature of the script, there are numerous textual indicators that enable to identify the locale in which this scroll was produced by examining certain scribal traditions which varied according to location.) It is noticeable that the present scroll was written by 3 scribes specially trained, working under very distinct rules and every detail such as the words, was transcribed with painstaking detail. Scrolls of this age are not found and extremely important for its utmost rarity of the earliest examples of the Moroccan tradition. The present Scroll offered is one of the earliest witness to the various Moroccan customs concerning its letters, and as a whole, the writing of a Torah. Due to age and constant use in synagogues over the centuries, as expected there are restoration marks, smudging, staining and wear ,some, with a couple of notably darkened passages which does not effect the uniqueness or beauty of this rare scroll.
