staff: 6 Large-size and beautiful coloured copper engraving map, published by Homann, Nuremberg, about 1746 AD Worldmap "Planiglobii Terrestris..." Cartographer Johann Baptist Homann (*1663 - † 1724) was a German cartographer, publisher and engraver. After Homanns death the enterprise was taken over by his son Johann Christoph Homann (*1703; † 1730). Homann jun. appointed Johann George Ebersberger and Johan Michael Franz as managing directors. After Homann jun. death the enterprise was then continued under the name "Homannsche Erben". Description This is a large-size and decorative, coloured copper engraving map, published by Homann. The map shows the world on eight hemispheres. On the left hemisphere you can see South and North America and on the right hemisphere you can see Africa, Asia and Europe. In the lower part of the map is a richly decorated cartouche. Nach dem Tod Homanns ging sein Unternehmen auf dessen Sohn Johann Christoph Homann (* 1703; † 1730) über. Nach seinem Tod wurde das Unternehmen dann unter dem Namen "Homannsche Erben" fortgeführt. Sie bieten auf eine dekorative kolorierte Kupferkarte welche die Welt auf acht Halbkugeln zeigt. Auf der linken Halkugel ist Süd und Nordamerika zu sehen und auf der rechten Halbkugel ist Asien, Afrika und Europa zu sehen. Im unteren Teil der Karte ist eine reich verzierte Kartusche zu sehen.
